As one of Western Australia's finest salsa
performers and leading salsa instructor, the captivating Liliana Sputore
epitomises the" essence" and "feel" of the true street Latin dancing.
Liliana's personal dance
style Liliana's
personal dancing style is closely connected to her understanding of Latin
rhythms in salsa. This is a result of her long-term training and work in
interpreting this complex type of music and is also due to her exposure to
this dance and music from an early age in her country of origin. She is
able to remain authentic in her dance style while connecting with her
dance partner. Her emphasis is on dance technique, body movement
awareness, timing, styling, rhythm, expression, connection with the
music and with one's dance partner, while of course being present to the
feeling of the dance.

Dance origins
Born and raised in Argentina for
most of her life (to Italian parents) Liliana's passion for dance
originated from her Latin roots where music and dancing was intrinsic to
her way of life. After arriving in Australia, she pursued her
professional career as a Nutritionist and Dietitian, learning how to teach
and communicate at all levels and on an individual as well as a group
basis. These skills have been useful and applied in her career as a dance
instructor as she understands the learning process involved. Liliana
has explored many dancing styles over the years, from hip-hop, funk, jazz
and club dancing. After a trip to Europe and time spent in Spain, Liliana
returned to her Latin roots expanding her dancing repertoire to
Argentinian tango, merengue, cha-cha salsa and mambo.

salsa instructor began at Salsa Casino Studios, where she taught salsa for
nearly 8 years. Amongst the main local influences early in her
career, has been Damiano Ciranna (principal of Ciranna's Academy
of Dance). As a dedicated salsa instructor and performer, Liliana
has continued to learn not only from interstate salsa schools but
overseas as well. She embarked on travels to Argentina, Miami, Los
Angeles, New York and Paris where she attended World Congresses in
Argentinian tango and salsa.
She attended many Interstate and
International congresses various times, such as LA, Paris, Malasya,
etc. She learned from teachers such as the famous Eddie
Torres ("The King of Mambo"), Frankie Martinez, Seaon "Stylist" Bristol,
Edie the Salsa Freak, Candy Mena, Griselle Ponse, Nelson Flores and
many others.
After mastering Cuban style salsa,
experiencing LA and Millennium styles salsa, and other street Latin
rhythms, she progressed to New York style salsa ("on 2" or mambo) and this

Ladies' styling
Liliana has specialised in
ladies styling, inspired and coached by instructors such as Josie Neglia,
Edie the Salsa Freak, Olivia Dasso, Amanda Estilo, Candy Mena, Griselle
Ponce and others. She has perfected her technique through workshops,
private classes, instructional videos and hours of practice each day, so
she is able to relate to students who are novices, with the philosophy
that in the right hands anyone can be taught to enjoy the magical
experience of dance. Her own dance experience has fostered her passionate
enthusiasm for encouraging women to discover their own sensuality through
the dance. She is inspired when observing the transformation as women
learn to express themselves through the dance with increased
self-confidence, developing their own authentic style, showing flare and
passion for the dance. This is achieved either in "partner dancing
classes", footwork classes (such as "shines") or private tuition.
