RITMO is a dance school committed to a high standard of Latin dance teaching. We use moves to teach you the skills and technique to dance with anyone. Our classes explore concepts of body movement and awareness, frame, connection, musicality, timing, style and more throughout our courses.
We’ve collated a few FAQs to help answer your questions and avoid disappointment or unfulfilled expectations for all parties.

Q: What is your refund policy?
Like all dance schools, tuition fees for full course, casual classes, prizes from socials and parties and other purchases are non-refundable and not transferable.
Under certain circumstances, you may be granted credit towards our services or classes, however, arrangements must be made with the Director, Liliana.
If you know ahead of time that you will miss a substantial number of classes (3+ consecutively), you will need to communicate this to the director in advance.

Q: I’m FIFO and will miss several classes due to work, what can I do?
We offer deals for FIFO workers. Please speak to Liliana in advance to find out more.
Q: What if I can’t keep up?
We recognise not everyone learns the same way or at the same rate. We do our best to accommodate everyone in our classes, but if you are struggling, our teachers are there to help and private tuition is a potent option. However, it is your responsibility to practice between classes. Not practicing can result in frustration for yourself and others in class. We provide a free weekly social for students. Practicing during social events, speeds learning and consolidation.
RCDA reserves the right to progress/regress students as standards and goals are met.

Q: How can I catch up if I miss a class?
We endeavour to assist however possible, however, it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the content before you attend the following class. Of course, private tuition can help you catch up and accelerate your learning.
Q: What if I don’t have a partner/my partner doesn’t want to join classes with me?
Not a problem, we endeavour to rotate partners throughout all classes, so everyone has a chance to experience different dancers.
We allow partners to stick together, however, we find this practice accelerates your learning, so we strongly encourage it!

Q: There are more leads/follows in my class and I don’t always have a partner!
There may be times when there will be uneven numbers of leaders and followers. We will try our best to ensure you get to dance by changing partners regularly and by having our friendly assistants help where possible. However, we strongly encourage you to use these opportunities to practice on your own.
Q: How can I get better?
We recommend all students practice a little every day and repeat courses to consolidate new skills. We provide intro spotify playlists for beginners in each of the styles as we strongly believe that listening to music of the style(s) is crucial to developing a feel for the dance.
We occasionally run specialised workshops and encourage your participation. However, private tuition is an excellent option for accelerating your learning and give you (and a partner) to opportunity to receive individual feedback.

Q: What classes are available and what should I do?
We offer Kizomba level 1-3, Salsa level 1-3, and Bachata Level 1-3. We advise all students start with level 1 courses, as they lay the foundations down for higher levels and may not be taught the same way as other styles or schools.
Any exceptions must be discussed with the appropriate teachers.
Please note, Bachata 2 must be completed twice, minimum, before progression to Bachata 3.
